To show my support for my sister Steph and raise awareness of bowel cancer particularly in young people I am taking part in Australia's most stunning Marathon - The Great Ocean Road Marathon!

Steph was diagnosed with Stage IV bowel cancer shortly after her 28th birthday. Now nearly 12 months later she has had the primary tumor removed and is undergoing chemotherapy to hopefully kill tumors in her liver. Bowel cancer is Australia's second most common type of newly diagnosed cancer and second biggest killer behind lung cancer. With early detection 90% of bowel cancers are curable, however less than 40% of bowel cancers are detected early.
